UNLV University Libraries Collection of Architecture Drawings contains original hand-drawn architectural drawings, print reproductions, computer generated prints, and board-mounted artist renderings dating between 1926 and 2003. The collection primarily focuses on Las Vegas, Nevada, but also includes projects throughout Nevada and other states including Utah, Arizona, California, Mississippi, and Colorado.

Scope and Contents Note
UNLV University Libraries Collection of Architecture Drawings contains original hand-drawn architectural drawings, print reproductions, computer generated prints, and board-mounted artist renderings dating between 1926 and 2003. The collection primarily focuses on Las Vegas, Nevada, but also includes projects throughout Nevada and other states including Utah, Arizona, California, Mississippi, and Colorado.
Project types include single-family residences, warehouses, public facilities, hotels, casinos, restaurants, golf courses, master planned communities, apartments, condominiums, offices, theaters, hospitals and churches. Original hand-drawn material were created with pencil, pen, markers, and colored pencils on architectural vellum and trace paper. Print reproductions formats include blueline prints, brownline prints, and blueprints. Computer generated prints were created by computer-aided drafting and graphical rendering softwares. Board-mounted artist renderings were created using paint on foamboard or matte canvases. Types of architectural drawings include conceptual design and development sketches, construction drawings, and presentation drawings.
Drawing sets include a variety of sheets such as site plans, floor plans, building elevations, interior elevations, building sections, wall sections, building component detail drawings, foundation plans, landscape drawings, structural drawings, plumbing drawings, electrical drawings, and mechanical drawings. Note that while many drawings have noted architects, some are unattributed. Location information is included when listed in the drawings.

Materials were periodically collected by the University Libraries Special Collections and Archives; accession number 2019-033. Materials were purchased in 2020; accession number 2020-035. Materials were transferred from the Architecture Studies Library in 2022; accession number 2022-096.
Processing Note
In 2019, as part of an archival backlog elimination project, Jimmy Chang rehoused and arranged the materials, wrote the finding aid and entered the data into ArchivesSpace. In 2020, Jimmy Chang and Tammi Kim added materials to the collection. In 2022, Sarah Jones added additional material that was transferred from the Architecture Studies Library.
