Biographical / Historical Note

The Republican Women of Las Vegas, Nevada is an organization that was founded in 1947 to promote an informed electorate through political education and to increase the effectivemess of women in government through active political participation. The club, which is a member of the Nevada Federation of Republican Women and a member of the National Federation of Republican Women, continuously works to foster loyalty to the Republican Party, promote its ideals and secure the election of Republican candidates.

The organization engages in a variety of philanthropic activities. It helps to send high school students in the Close-Up Program to Washington, D.C. to observe government in action. Donations are made to local community outreach services and books are contributed to local libraries under the Mamie Eisenhower Library Program. Members contribute many volunteer hours to the annual Women's Fairs and numerous other community projects.
