Los Angeles - April 20, 1956 80-11 Mr. C. M. Cory: cc: Mr. Leo A. McNamee El Portal Bldg. - Las Vegas Mr. W. C. Renshaw Las Vegas Valley Water District P.O.Box 1109 - Las Vegas Referring to agreement between the railroads and the Water District dated June 1, 1953: It is provided in that agreement that the railroads would, among other things, grant an easement to the Water District between points A and V as shown on Exhibit "A” attached to the agreement. I now understand that the pipe line for which that easement was granted was built to the west of the easement strip on the property of the Water District, and therefore there would seem to be no reason why the District should continue to hold that particular easement. I would appreciate if you would go into this matter with Mr. Renshaw and Mr. McNamee and see if it would be possible for them to quitclaim that easement back to the LA&SLRRCo. As you know, we had a similar transaction in connection with the proposed site of the relocated pumping station, which station was never relocated, and the District gave the LA&SLRRCo. a Grant, Bargain, Sale Deed for the property in question. Mr. Bates advises me with respect to this easement as follows: "The easement for this pipe line Is covered in UPRR Audit 80405, C.L.D. 113^2 on page 8 as (k-10). The easement is further referred to as #1 of Easement Strip 10 in Exhibit "F" of said contract. This easement was conveyed to Las Vegas Valley Water District by Grant of Easement dated June 1, 195^ and identified as LA&SL Deed Audit No. 5352. The easement Is described in this grant as being #1 of Easement Strip 9.w Possibly that will better enable you to Identify It. EEBtps E. E. Bennett
