r NATIONAL fttsmmumtr ASSOCIATION, inc July 15, 1963 m Mr. Al Freeman Sands Hotel Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Al: Once again, on behalf of the National Press Photogra- phers Association I wish to express our deepest thanks and appreciation for your participation in our annual convention. The hoppitality you have shown to our queens over the years is greatly appreciated by all of our members. I understand from Joe Costa that the two of you have been in touch regarding our 196^ convention dnd I am looking forward to a successful solution to this particular situation. Although I do not know all of the particulars of your correspondence with Joe at this time, I would like to point out that we had been talking with Clyde Anderson: of the Centennial Commission and it was my understand- ing that all of the major hotels on the "Strip" had been contacted relative to this upcoming convention. However, I understand from Joe that you had heard; nothing of the possibility of our coming to Las Vegas and I am certainly sorry that this matter had not been brought to your attention prior to our decision in Wyoming. I certainly hope that we are able to work out a successful solution to this particular situation and X am certain we will be in contact during the next few weeks. Again, my deepest thanks on behalf of all NPPA members for your participation in our annual conventions and beauty pageants. cc:EC ?╟≤ President JIM BENNETT KLZ-TV 131 Speer Boulevard Denver 17, Colorado ?╟≤ Secretary LES SWENSON 102 Donaldson Drive Syracuse 9, N.
