F?╜ Latthew, Frank Donohue, W. E. Cuffe, Elmo Ellsworth, Dr. Cox, Jr., Dr. Cox, Sr., Archie Loveland, Jack Pepper, George Albright, To begin this meeting, Mr. Albright asked Dr. Cox what was expected of the community in regard to this flight. Dr, Cox said the operational problem of moving people is a routine problem but you have to get the traffic in sufficient numbers to justify running flights. He said he would need to know if Las Vegas had surveyed this market and when and how long these people would want to be here in Las Vegas. This would all have a bearing on the way they would set up their operations. Their problem would be in integrating a plane from their regular runs into this smaller circle. The only other problem would be if you had a really big market and since the federal government does not allow this class of carrier to run more than ten trips per month between any two cities, it might be possible to run additional trips out of Houston since Houston is more than fifty miles from Da 11 as. If that was not feasible, then there are other carriers who could handle some of the flights if you wanted daily service, theyocould be apprised of it and fit it into their operations. Initially though, he didn't think more than ten flights per month would be necessary* Mr. Turner said the trouble that TransWorld had when they flew in here was with the porters at the airport. Since they are hired by Western Airlines, they refused to handle baggage for other lines and made it rough on TransWorld. Mr. Whitemore asked if there weren't court proceedings in the process at the present time which could restrict these flights? Mr. Matthew said the Court of Appeals had questioned the certi- fication of these air carriers and the CAB found that they were without authority so they made an emergency appeal to Congress.
