Complying with ay promise made to some of yon that am account of the proposal for solving the water problems of Las yogas Talley Water Bis trie t would he submitted to the public through yon, X a® handing yon a condensed version of the report made today to members of the District Board, by Mr. James Saxfield and his engineer, Mr. Ralph 0‘Neill, with the letter of review of said report by Mr. James 1. Montgomery. I am preparing this copy for the purpose of assisting yen to give to the general public full and easily understandable knowledge of the plans which these gentlemen are giving in more technical terms to the Board. This report gives, I believe, all the information the news­papers and radio will want to pass on to the public. However, all statements given in this brief and simplified report are mors fully set forth on the plats and engineering studies made by the engineers and submitted to the Board by Mr. Maxfleld. Such plans my b© examined upon application to me. That you, and through you the general public may have & clear understanding of the experience and ability of the engineers who have made the studies and devised the plans under consideration, I give you the following brief account of what they already have accomplished in the engineering world. Mr. Ralph Q‘Neill was the owner * s engineer in charge of the construction, and for three years thereafter the operation of the water system for BMX and Henderson. He is recognised as one of the outstanding consultants on water works and sanitary engineering is the West. Mr. James M. Montgomery, the reviewing engineer, was general manager and chief engineer of the firm of engineers which was in charge of the designing and construction of the BMI water facilities. He Is now consulting engineer to the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California; and also of the important cities of Salt Lake City, San Diego, Burbank, Ventura, Long Beach, and Pasadena amongst others. fo help you in translating the engineer’s report into brief, simple and every-day language, I am giving you the following brief outling of the proposed project* The main pipeline from Lake Mead to Henderson is to be divided Into two parts, with a reservoir at Manganese Ores plant.
