I agree.Thalia Dondero letter to residents supporting Ron Lurie, May 22, 1987
Thalia May 22, 1987 Dear Fellow Residents, It is with heartfelt appreciation that I write to you, expressing my extreme gratitude for your support in my recent campaign for Mayor of Las Vegas. I enjoyed meeting, discussing the issues and hearing the opinions of so many of you, and to those of you who supported me in my bid for Mayor, I thank you. And now, I?d like you to put your faith in a man who shares my love for the community, my passion for beautiful parks and adequate recreation facilities, my concern for neighborhood police and fire protection, my dedication to defeating the violent crime and drug menace, my desire for a healthy Las Vegas lifestyle. Ron Lurie is my choice to lead our city into the 1990s. Ron is a longtime public servant of the city, both as a city councilman and as a civic organizer, and truly has the skill, experience and commitment to answer the challenges stated above. Las Vegas continues to be a focal point of national and international interest and publicity, and it?s critical that we have a Mayor who can work full-time at representing the city?s top executive position with dedication and open-mindedness to the future. Ron is the only candidate for Mayor who realistically can keep our local government operating smoothly so the city as a whole can continue to progress and prosper. If you want a no-nonsense leader to replace Bill Briare ? who, in my opinion, did an absolutely splendid job as our Mayor ? then you?ll vote for Ron Lurie on June 2. P.S. The voter turnout for the general election ? according to the county registrar ? is expected to be low. In lieu of this, it is extra important that you exercise your right to vote on June 2! Sincerely, Thalia Dondero Thalia Dondero Home 735-8203 808 Bonita Las Vegas, Nevada 89104 O ffice 383-3500
