Word received here last night from the comic states that because this will be the first beauty pageant he has ever emceed, the Miss Houston spectacular is getting his individual attention, "In telephoning us about his personal interest," said Wally Sisk, co-chairman of the pageant committee, "Mr, Lewis stated that he wants Miss Houston, as his own favorite Texas girl, to go all the way to the top." As a prelude to coming here to headline and emcee the show July 14 at the Sam Houston Coliseum, the comedian: 1. Announced that he will have a special surprise gift, personally selected, for Mi3s Houston, to be opened the night she is crowned. 2. Invited the Jaycees to send a delegation to Hollywood for a pre-show conference and, also, to bring the surprise package back to Houston. "We have no idea what the gift will be," Wes Hooper, Jaycee president, said, "but we will fly back to Houston with it immediately. The people of Houston will know just as soon as we do* "In the meantime, the Jaycee organisation is deciding just who will make the trip to Hollywood. Because of the popularity of Jerry Lewis, all the boys want to go. It's a pity that we don?╟╓t have a plane big enough." ?╟÷m o r e--
