RECORD OF SCHOLARSHIP IN THE ST. LOUIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS EXPLANATION TO PARENTS 1. This form is used to report to the parents the progress of their children. 2. The principal may, according to his judgment, send this report either half-quarterly (every five weeks) or quarterly (every ten weeks), and may include in it either the rank in class alone or the standing in each study together with the rank in class. 3. Work is reported as excellent, good, moderate or poor indicated by the letters e, g, m, p. 4. The relative values of these marks are shown as far as can be done in the following comparison by per cents; excellent, 85 to 100 per cent; good, 70 to 85 per cent; moderate, 60 to 70 per cent; poor, below 60 per cent. 5. This report will keep parents informed as to progress, and will be of great service to the latter if parents will carefully examine, sign and return it. Where marks are reported as moderate or poor, or where there is frequent tardiness or irreg-. ular attendance, the parents and principal should consult about the causes and remedies of such conditions.
