Let me know. thanks Ludwig ROUGH DRAFT HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS GROUP OF SOUTHERN NEVADA Las Vegas, NV 89129 Minutes of the Executive Committee (Officers and Board of Directors) of the Holocaust Survivors Group of Southern Nevada (HSGSN) Meeting, February 6, 2005, at the Jewish Federation, 2039 Renaissance Dr, Las Vegas NV Present: Henry Schuster, Anita Schuster, Bruno Borenstein, Jean Lesser, Ludwig Bauer, David Berkovits, Sam Chinkes, Harold Blitzer, David Gavrin, Raymonde Fiol, Gina Klonoff, Alexander Kuechel, Lydia Lebovic, Benjamin Lesser, Perry Oehlbaum, Pola Zimmerman. 1. The Executive Committee attended a Meeting of the 2 n d Generation of Holocaust Survivors, from 10-11 A.M. Bruno Borenstein outlined some of the Missions of 2 n d Generation of Holocaust Survivors. 2. The Executive Committee of HSGSN was called to order by President Schuster at 11 AM. 3. The Minutes of the Board Meeting of HSGSN of October 2, 2004 were circulated, and approved. 4. Treasurer Jean Lesser reported that the current Account for HSGSN is $3156, mainly from dues and contributions. President Anita Schuster informed the Board that we are receiving also some $3200 from the Claims Conference. Fund-raiser Lydia Lebovic reported that there was relatively little income from "Contributions". 5. President's Reports and Old Business a. President Schuster announced that the May 4t h Yom Hashoah Remembrance will be at Temple Beth Sholom. As members of a city-wide committee responsible for the program for that night, Presidents Schuster will voice their opinions on the program, to be yet announced. b. The HSGSN booth for Israel's Independence Day, May 15, will be manned by the 2n d Generation Holocaust Survivors. 6. New Business It was moved (Oehlbaum), seconded (Kuechel), and passed that we continue the Food Certificates for the needy. 2/9/2005 Page 2 of 2 7. Announcements a. Gina Klonoff requested speakers willing to present their Holocaust experiences to let her know. b. President Schuster announced that there will be a buffet lunch and speaker in the near future. d. The Board expressed appreciation by HSGNS to Mr. Adelson of the Venetian for catering the 5t h annual Chanukah Party, at the Sands Expo, December 19, 2004. e. Maria Scher, Director of Jewish Student Life, of Hillel at UNL V indicated that the students will have some form of Holocaust Survivor recognition at the time of Yom Hashoah. f. Treasurer Jean Lesser, Vice-President Harold Blitzer and Secretary Ludwig Bauer were each, presented Certificates of Appreciation of services rendered to HSGNS. g. There was a plea for participation in combating Survivor's Loneliness, be it at home or in a hospital. To engage persons at Meetings, or maybe calling them. However, it was noted that it will take some expert training in that area. 7. Meeting adjourned at 12:00 PM.
