    •.njury Case - Boner Thompson pegs 2 ?. Foreman Stiles State* that after Thompson cans beak he asked him If he hod ever been troubled that way before, and he stated he had, about a year before. The way the foreman understood Thompson's statement wee that the doctor had told him ha was born with the condition, presumably hernia* Thompson stated that he was going to tote a trip to boa Angelas to visit his wife on Friday (Deoember 25th) and that ha would bo hank for work on Monday morning. lie did not work after returning from the doctor1a offlae. 8. Foreman Btllsa states that ha haa no knowledge of the doetor aver colling this company stating that Thompson had a hernia. This Is confirmed by Superintendent Doyle. 9. The last day Thompson worked was December 2b, 1953, and ha was separated from the payroll effective on that data. 10. Thompson did not return for work on Monday, Dsoaaber 28, 1953. Ha did return to the Hater Company and requested re-employment about January 25, 195b. Thera was no opening for him, and ha was net re-employed. I understand from Hr. M. E. Davie that ha than want to the Railroad Company and made application for employment, at which tine they sent him to the doctor, and Mr. Davis understands that the doctor rejected him because of hernia. 11. Mr. Davie states that on Friday, January 29, 195b, the doctor called him and Informed him that the hay had a hernia, that ha fait this condition was caused during the time he was employed by this Company, and ha felt that wa should re-employ this man and arrange for hospi­talisation to correct the hernia, at which time Nr. Davie notified Nr. Doyle. Hr. Haag was notified of the situation and arranged far discussion of the matter on Monday, February 1, 195b.
