JUL, Est. 1888 I Gorshin-Kaian Tops In Flamingo Bill j By ABE GREENBERG Through the talents and artistry of Frank Gorshin, master mime, The Flamingo Hotel's new showbill brings Rod Steiger, John Wayne, Ben Gazzara, Tony Quinn and a score of other stars on stage . . . that is, by way of Frank's impressions of the famed personalities. Gorshin's mastery of the art as a mime seems to be limitless, and he covers an amazing range in his proliferation of personalities, as diverse as the rotund and jowly Alfred Hitchcock and the lean and jut-jawed Kirk Douglas. And, as if these multi-star- r e d characterizations of Gorshin's aren't enough, the same show features Lainie Kazan, the sizzling songstress who rates as one of the most exciting orioles in the mod music world . . . This scintillating Gorshin-Kazan bill remains through June 5 with Ella Fitzgerald and Myron Cohen to follow. ?╟≤ ?╟≤ ?╟≤ DESERT DATA ... The Frank Sennes-Donn Arden. production of "Pzazz! '68" at the Desert Inn lives up to its present day tradition ... the word is synonymous with zip, force, flare, etc. . . but this was not always the meaning or the spelling of "Pzazz." In the 1920's the word was spelled "Pizzazza," coined to describe an elixir used by a comic strip character to give him electrifying power . . . Eventually showbiz adopted the word and changed its spelling to "Pazzazz," meaning approximately "zing" . . . But in the Desert Inn's new smash musical the word has been shortened to simply "Pzazz," and another new facet has been added to its meaning ?╟÷ the Tops! * ?╟≤ * SHOWTIME...
