METRO - GOLDWYN - MAYER PICTURES This radio-television contest will be broadcast and telecast over stations KRNT and KRNT-TV, Des Moines* Both stations are basic CBS and have the hi^iest ratings for both their national and local shows* KRNT and KRNT?╟÷TV are owned by Cowles Publishing, publishers of Look Magazine, Des Moines Register and Tribune and the Minneapolis Star and Tribune among other enterprises* The contest will be run in cooperation with Bill Riley, Des Moines' most popular radio and television personality, who has 22 radio and television shows weekly. Now - to the details: CONTEST: Listeners and viewers will be asked to write their name and address on a postcard and send same to the MEET ME IN LAS VEGAS contest in care of KRNT. Entries will be placed in a ?╟╓'Lucky Jackpot" barrel from which five names each day for a period of two (2) weeks will be drawn* These five people will win appropriate prizes and thus become eligible for the grand prize - a three day, all- expenses paid vacation at the Sands Hotel* Therefore, we will have fifteen (1$) contests in all. PROMOTION: Riley will plug this contest on his 22 radio and television shows. All other local personalities will also plug this contest on their shows calling attention to the Riley shows for details. KRNT's promotion department will run daily commentary in their paid advertising column plus asnumber of special ads in the newspaper calling attention to the contest. Further, the station will also prepare special television and radio spots promoting this contest. Each gratis spot will mention the Sands Hotel as will all other promotional media* Theatre-wise, the Des Moines Theatre will run a special trailer during the run of the contest calling attention to the contest. Full credit to the Sands Hotel will be noted therein. A huge lobby display will also be placed in the lobby of the Des Moines Theatre calling attention to the promotion and, of course, mentioning the Sands Hotel prominently* Furthermore, KRNT-TV is willing to run any television film clips of any activities around the hotel, i.e., swimming pool, night club, etc., plus mentioning your current attrac- tion. They will also ran filmed footage of winners departing for Las Vegas and will run ary footage you shoot on your end of the winners arriving in Las Vegas and using the facilities of the Sands Hotel* (more)
