63 ?╟≤ ACT POUR FADE IN: 13^A EXT. DESERT - SCENE AS BEFORE - DAY 134A ESTABLISHING. 135 EXT. CLOSER VIEW 135 CAMERA SLOWLY PANS THE THREE FALLEN BODIES , grotesquely prone and laden with sand. Kelly is recognizable; his headdress is half-torn away. At least thirty feet distant lies Bashik, recognizable chiefly by his size, the wind-blown kaffiyah covering his head. Perhaps ten feet farther on is Scott, who apparently was trying to crawl toward the King before he collapsed. All is deathly still. 136 EXT. DESERT AND SKY - DAY 136 High up, the helicopter briefly hovers, vulturelike and then begins the swoop downward. 137 EXT. HELICOPTER ALIGHTING - DAY 137 as it nears the ground, WE NOTE THE TERRIFIC EFFECT UPON THE SAND OF THE DOWNDRAFT CAUSED BY THE HELICOPTER'S ROTORS IN THE DESCENT; A GREAT, CIRCULAR, ARTIFICIAL SANDSTORM DIRECTLY UNDER THE 40-FOOT CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE BLADES. THE ENGINE NOSE ABATES, the rotors slow down toward a stop, parallel with the ground, while the sand is settling down again. 138 139 138 A SHOT OF BASHIK 138 The real purpose of which is to show the spread of the scattering sand. The air disturbance caused by the copter's rotors throws more sand upon his sprawled body and blows aside the headdress which has been hiding his face. Bashik himself does not stire at all and may be dead. 139 SHOT OF SCOTT much the same as the preceding shot. 139
