ALFRED SHEINWOLD Dear You'll be enthusiastic over the novel bridge tournament at the Sands, October 9 to 13. It will be a sporting contest. Straight rubber bridge, with no fancy bids. All the players will be people of means who can comfortably take a few days off to match wits with people like themselves. The prizes are worth while. Counting the optional sweepstakes, the first prize will run to about $20,000. Other prizes are in proportion. There are even consola- tion prizes for those who don't get past the first two days. The odds are good. The Sands is matching the sweepstake pool, dollar for dollar. If you are a good player there is roughly one chance in twenty that you and your partner will be at the top of your game and will take home a few thousand dollars each. The investment is only $100 each. It will be a swinging tournament. Sandy Waterman and his colleagues at the Sands are wonderful hosts and are eager to give the contestants and their friends the time of their lives. In years to come it will be fun for you to say to your envious friends, "Yes, I played in that first rubber bridge tournament at the Sands. Man, was that a tournamenti" Make your reservation now. If you have any questions or problems drop me a line or call me on the phone. Tournament Judge P. S. Please show our brochure to your bridge friends. We will do everything possible to make sure that you don't have to play against your closest friends in the first two days of qualifying play. 544 Loring Avenue ?╟≤ Los Angeles, California 90024 ?╟≤ GRanite 4-0679
