OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF IAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA, JUNE 22, 1928. At an adjourned regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, held on the 22nd day of June, 1928, at the hour of three o'clock P. M. Present: His honor the Mayor, J. E. Hesse; Commissioners O. J. Smith, W. B. Mundy and W. C. German, together with the City Attorney and Clerk. Absent: Commissioner Roy Neagle. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. The Clerk then presented to the Board the following letter from the South Nevada Land and Development Company: OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. JUNE 21, 1928 At an adjourned regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, held on the 21st day of June, 1928, at the hour of Three o'clock P. M. Present: His Honor, the Mayor, J. F. Hesse; Commissioners O. J. Smith. W. B. Mundy and W. C. German, together with the City Attorney and Clerk. Absent: Commissioner Roy Neagle. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Mr. W. E. Ferron, a member of the committee previously appointed to investigate the oil bound gravel type of pavement, made an oral report of the findings of the committee. After discussion of the report, it was ordered, upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, that this meeting adjourn until the 22nd day of June, 1928, at the hour of three o'clock P. M. for my resignation being solely that I may thereby relieve the City administration of any possible embarrassment which might be occasioned by my continuance in office under the unfortunate circumstances existing. Respectfully submitted, R. E. Lake, Jr. Chief of Police. Thereupon on motion of Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner, German, the resignation of R. E. Lake Jr., as said Marshal of the City of Las Vegas, was accepted, the vote being as follows: Commissioners Smith, Mundy, German and his Honor, the Mayor Hesse, aye. Noes, None. The Clerk then read the following letter to the Board: June 18, 1928. Mr. W. L, Scott, Clerk, City of Las Vegas, Nevada, Las Vegas, Nevada. Dear Sir: Effective at once please remove our names as Bondsman for R. E. Lake, Jr., employed by the City of Las Vegas as City Marshall, and surrender bond signed by us. Your very truly, W. H. Pike E. W. Cragin By: E. W. Cragin. This letter was ordered filed. No further business appearing the meeting was adjourned.
