Las Vegas-Clark County Department of Health STEWART AND SECOND STREETS TELEPHONE 1635 LAS VEGAS,NEVADA March 28, 1949 Las Vegas Land and Water Co., 401 S. Second Street Las Vegas, Nevada Attention of Mr. Folger Gentlemen: The raw sewage coming from the #1 disposal plant of Las Vegas, is being used for irrigation purposes, and the run-off has become a nuisance in that mosquitoes are breeding in the swamps formed. It is the intent of this Health Department to begin immediately the addition of oil to the raw sewage in quantities of 50 gallons for every 24-hour-period for the next few months. It is hoped that you will participate by checking the concentration on your property and reporting any over abundant oil residue. Sincerely yours, G. J. Sylvain, M. D.
