FFEEMAM pv6//c/st4\ 6/20/57 1 Th?? Sands tt'fiLas Vegas Nevada Mr. Ves Hooper Junior Chamber of Commerce 1102 Commerce Building Houston, 1, Texas Bear Ves, It was nice talking to you on the phone yesterday and I believe w?? will have a fine promotion with the Miss Houston Pageant. I am enclosing some color photos of the Sands and some black and white photos as per your request, and if we can help you further on this point, please let me know. Jakei had some ideas about posters in the business windows downtown and I would appreciate your letting me know what you could use along that line. I think it might be better to get th?? posters made in Houston, using pictures from here. That way, you could get the full story told a little more clearly and effectively. As I see it now, the Pageant takes place on July 14, and I would appreciate your comment as to when Miss Houston would be coming out to the Sands. Also, as to how she will come, with whom, etc, so we can make reservations. I will keep the people here appraised of developments as they happen, if you will be kind enough to keep me posted. Also, let me know how elsipp we can help make this Pageant a tremendous affair. The idea of name judges for your show is still whirling around in our heads up here and we will keep working on this point. I can see that your press department already has the sit*- uatlon well in hand, and 1 believe it wise that the notice of the Sands vacation for Miss Houston come from your office, although I will fill in various newspeople in Houston as I can. Charlie Evans of the Houston CHRONICLE is here at the Sands now, and is planning to do quite a spread on the idea. Will be talking to you via phone early next week and mean- while, thank you for your thoughtfulness about the Sands and the Miss Houston Pageant. I will be at the Sands until July 20, so please write to me here. Kindest regard, A1 freeman Wl LSHIRE BL VD. ?╟≤ BEVERLY HILLS, CAL. ?╟≤ BRADSHAW 2 - 8 6 1 1
