Chuck McCarroll Production manager Sandcastle Tumon Bay Guam 15 Sept 1999 Fax No 0011 1671649 7262 Set Design ?ç Additional Numbers Here are copies of the two settings we have drawn to date (1) The night club set is approved by Jerry but still awaits the painted graphic which is to go onto the stretched canvas elipse. A number of visuals have been assembled of it but none are satisfactory. We will resolve this matter as soon as possible but for costing purposes we suggest you go ahead on the one enclosed. The drawing shows a flown eliptical frame with a stretched canvas infill. The frame would be constructed of lightweight bent steel tube with a ply facia on which are mounted a perimeter of square plastic mirror pieces. The outer & inner edges of this frame is to be finished in a decorative chrome tube At the back of the frame needs to be be provision of a secondary elipse to which the stretched canvas could be attached by means of ties & eylets. The canvas is to have a painted black & white graphic on it yet to be resolved. The drawing shows a second flown piece which is a lightweight steel framed ply flat covered in black velour. This flat is decorated in strips of relief borders detailed in the same manner as the existing Deco border, in current use in Guam. The borders consist of plastic mirror tiles with painted black gloss ply strips & trims of chrome inch diameter pipe. The central motif are areas of plastic mirror, trimmed with gold chrome pipe of smaller diameter. Artwork model will be provided. The areas of exposed black velour require a distribution of random pee lights to provide a decor effect. Power for these should come from the stage up which should be possible providing the r is not a set up problem. Finally we show a raised lightweight steel framed rostrum which is to be set in front of the flattage. This rostrum is finished with the same decorative elements of mirror tiles & chrome pipe. The top surfaces & treads etc are to be painte gloss black. The rostrum should have swivel castors inset into its upstage rear face so that it can travel & be stored vertically offstage with rubber pads to rest on when its in position & laying flat. We also include a sketch for the night club tables & chairs > 6 tables
