Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Regular Meeting Fundraising Committee
June 4, 1994
The fundraising committee met on May 26, 1994 at Soror Lisa’s home. The following issues were discussed:
Sorors we need collecting ads calendar to be were addressed
your support once again. It’s time to start for the 1995 Calendar. We want next years our most successful. The following issues to help us reach our goal.
If there are any sorors that have plans to contact repeat customers you must do so before the September Meeting. In September the names will be distributed and contacted by whoever is assigned the particular business. Soror Lisa is currently putting together a new list. If you have any businesses that you think should be on the list please write them down and give them to Lisa.
In June a letter will be mailed to prospective subscribers, informing them of the calendar. In July you will be receiving a list of businesses to contact. It is up to us to follow up with phone calls and attempt to collect money and ads from these businesses. Please keep in mind, no money no ads! Submit all ads and money to Soror Lisa. This year we would like to stress that sorors sell the calendars in addition to selling ads. You may want to mention this to your customers because the sale of calendars has not been emphasized in the past. A patron list as well as price list for ads will be included in the mailing. There is a $ 50.00 assessment that each soror will be responsible for.
In November, our goal is to have all ads and money collected. All ads will be given to Lavonne to be handed in to the printer. The calendars should be ready at the December meeting.
Suggestions: Sorors remember to go back to the businesses that you patronized during Black Dollar Days.
Let businesses know that the calendars will be available to more people this year.
Labor Day Bash
Galling all salespeople! It’s that time of year again when we must look to our friends and their friends, and their friends... to support our upcoming dances by buying tickets. You can promise them great cheesecake and good fun at this one. Lavonne is checking on locations for our Labor Day Bash.
New Years Eve Dance
A location for the New Years Eve Dance is in the works! Soror April has worked hard at securing a location and has been discussing details with Harrah’s. We are currently checking into their menu selections and room fees. More details will follow!
