Newsmen are to be at airport by 12 noon, and each hotel is to provide transportation and accompany their guests to airport. c. Ray Culley is to arrange for baggage pickup at hotels. Ray Culley and Bob McKay of TWA explained that this year the Quickie Vacation conincides with the inauguration of Convair 880 jet service to both Las Vegas and Phoenix, and that this aspect of the promotion will be vigorously explored by TWA. The reasons for delay in setting the date for the flight were the uncertainty of the date of inauguration of this new TWA service. Because gular flights are being used the newsmen will receive regular tickets on a regtf$$r jet flight to Phoenix Jan. 18, and will arrive in Las Vegas via a charter flight from there. The group will depart on TWA's regular Convair 880 flight at 1 p.m. Sunday and baggage will have to be checked in at McCarran Field. Other aspects of the program includes 1. The sending of telegrams to all newsmen participating in the flight, requesting in advance any specific photo or news coverage in the area desired by them. Responsibility: Las Vegas News Bureau. 2. A second telegram to all participants in the flight, signed by all entertainers appearing in the area, inviting them to Las Vegas. Responsibility: Las Vegas News Bureau. 3.
