Offhand I can't recall any more entertaining than the current edition. And I don't remember seeing a new face more promising than Hollywood's Keefe Brasselle who makes his New York ginmill debut in the current opus at Messrs. Loew and Risman's palatial palace of the nocturnal arts. Brasselle is a really exciting personality. He is a personable personification of "ham" cut in the pattern of Eddie Cantor (whose life story he played), Al Jolson and Harry Richman. His performance?╟÷which consists of song, dance, patter, and good- natured clowning?╟÷is, to repeat a phrase I used yesterday, reminiscent of the great nights on Broadway when Broadway was an international institution. The audience loves him, won't let him off, which causes the show to run overtime much to the consternation of the show gals whose after-theatre love-lives the delay seriously interferes with. ADDING TO THE excitement is another unveiling for New York cabarets, the Karman Israeli Dancers and Singers, direct from the country of the same name. This young and talented group performs wild folk dances in colorful and flamboyant style. Every member of the troupe is handpicked for outstanding talent. The gals are particularly attractive. This turn is more than a cafe novelty. It deserves serious attention from the long hair dance and music critics. Unfortunately they'd rather be found dead than found in a nightclub. The new Latin Quarter bill is particularly fortunate in reprising the marvelous Happy Jesters, one of the fastest, funniest and zaniest of the rhythm groups. They are show stoppers anywhere. The huge bill is full of international and continental novelties, for the Latin Quarter is just IN CAFE BOW. Hollywood's Keefe Brasselle is making his N.Y. cafe debut as star of the new Latin Quarter extravaganza. about the last of the vari houses left in the country. There's a remarkable acrob; act called the Romano B] (From Italy). THERE'S SEXY Boubouka tummy-tosser in the classi style, who practically tosses into the ringside. (Fr Hollywood, but bound for Texa The huge, brilliant, eyefilli Donn Arden revue with the sc? and scads of undraped cuties a the production songs and dan of beautiful and talented Joj Roberts, Dick Curry, Rose Dobbs and Ted Monson has ready been noticed here. It is s one of the biggest musical attr; tions in town, backed by the fi music of Jo Lombardi and Bud Harlowe. In other words, it's a wond ful show. 7. C.
