The Austin American MORNING ??fyp Austin statesman EVENING American - statesman SUNDAT AT FOURTH AUSTIN,TEXAS December 4, 1957 Dear Al: Now that I?╟╓m back on my feet after that fabulous junket of yours, I want to express more personal appreciation for the whole deal. Truly, it was really a fantastic thing for Roselyn and me, and one which we'll be fondly remembering for a long time to come. I'm sure, though, that as much^as anything we'11 be fondly remembering your own hospitality and con- sideration which made us feel so welcome as well as your ingenuity which made it possible for us to be out there for such a swinging four days. I'm personally grateful to you for inviting us and really indebted for helping make it all so wonderful. I hope that you'll pass on our appreciation to the others who also contributed toward the pleasure of our visit -- especially Mr. Entratter and Miss Roth. You'll doubtless be interested to know that the CopaGirl opening created considerable local interest, and I gather that the readership of the pieces I sent back ran quite high. (I suppose your clipping bureau has already sent along tearsheets; if not, let me know and I'll provide some.) I have an idea, too, that the trip will furnish me with a lot of future column copy as well. After all, it isn't every day that I have a change to write about Las Vegas. An interesting sort of sidelight on the affair is that a University of Texas journalism professor invited me out to soeak to his public relations class about the Sands promotion. Seems he thought the idea a sharp one and wanted his students to hear about it first-hand. Which might be one of the few instances when the Sands and Al Freeman are the topics of discussion in a college classroom. Again, Al, thanks for everything, and let me know if there is ever anything I can do which might help repay you for all of your wonderful attention. I?╟╓m certainly hopeful that you'll take me up on that offer. j ?·
