9 Hock&jjeUe^i Plaja NEW YORK, N.Y. 10020 CIRCLE 5-8130 CABLE: "USAMANAGER" Mr. A1 Freeman The Sands Hotel Las Vegas, Nev. March 27, 1968 Dear Al: It was great talking to you yesterday, and I hope that we can get together on some kind of a deal, so that you can be a hero.' Enclosed please find pictures, biographies and albums of ENGLEBERT HUMPERDINCK, who would be available in October or November. I have offers from Ann Nelson at the Red Skelton Show and The Jonathan Winters Show for him for the fall, and have also been approached by Ed Sullivan on several occasions to use him. Englebert is a gigantic star in Europe, with three Number One Records, and two Number One albums in this country, and is pre- sently starring in his own show at the Palladium Theatre in London. Our asking price, the first time around, is $25,000 a week, and I have had several other offers with like amounts of money. As a matter of fact, Alex Shoofey of the Flamingo talked to me last week about him, when I was there for the opening of my client Tom Jones. (If you remember, I offered Tom to you before anybody else). ..^ ^ I have offers for Englebert from ThejCopaicabana, The Americana Hotel, The Cocoanut Grove, etc., for top money but, asof the moment, I^ave?ǣhb^f'?ǥinacJe a move":- I must get back to the Flamingo with a positive answer within the next week or ten days, so please let me know, as quickly as possible, about this boy. He is an excellent performer and, although not as dynamic as Tom Jones, really leaves the audience limp. Kindest personal regards. LG: s f
