Yellin' Rebel is currently running with six editor positions, exactly the same as in 1989-1990. Yet, the paper has grown to over 100 employees, it has grown in circulation by 3,000, and it has grown in quality. Letters can be provided upon request from the Communications Studies Department as well as from individual professors and members of the professional media. In order to maintain this growth and still produce quality, the following positions as well as pay scales are being respectfully requested. I think it is both fair and completely in line to ask for a $25 a month raise for section editors. I feel a 50 cent per hour raise is necessary for hourly employees. And it is a mistake that I ask be corrected that last year's editor in chief was paid $375. per month, while this year's editor is paid $300. He stated that he believes in freedom of the press, and that all of the Senate supports the Yell' 100%. He stated that the Senate never controlled the way the Yell' operates, and that the idea of the OSI page as a government controlled paper which only prints the good things, is silly. He requested that everyone go to the retreat. He stated that he isn't going to make the least attempt to trash the paper, and that the Yell' can write what they want. He stated that he is philosophically in favor of separation, and, in a less forceful way, agrees with what Bud stated, before the 'flock of idiots' comment. She stated that she will not rehash the Yellin' Rebel situation, and that she has never had anything but a desire to have an open and productive relationship with the Yell', and that it is so ironic to her that the type of attitude the Yell1 portrays CSUN as having is an antithesis of our feelings. She stated that she has never expressed animosity, never shirked CSUN's responisibility, and never has refused to help the Yell' in any way. She stated that Bud has put a lot of work into it, and that everyone should make an attempt at productivity. She thanked everyone for their support of her and Mike in Carson City. X.
