I agree.8/27/64 For release upon receipt: ENTRATTER SETS PAUL ANKA FOR SPECIAL ENGAGEMENT AT SANDS OPENING SEPTEMBER 2 Las Vegas, Nevada (8/27/64) . * | The brightest international star in show business today, Paul Anka, will be starred in a special Copa Room show here at the Sands presented by producer Jack Entratter, for three weeks opening Wednesday, September 2. Anka flies here directly from Sweden where he has been on a 12 city tour that has broken all existing records set by American stars for that country. Previous to the Swedish tour, Anka was featured in a four week hold-over engagement at the Waldorf Astoria's plush Empire Room. Entratter brought Anka to the Sands four years ago - at the age of 19, and each year the youngest member of the famed Sands family of stars has returned for a standing-room only engagement in the Copa Room. Anka's newest venture in show business has been to make record-films for the sensational Scopitone machine, and his selection has proven to be among the top three favorites in the more than 1200 machines throughout Europe, New York, Washington and Las Vegas.
