March 28, 1988 Mrs. Lillian H. Wallace President Hadassah Las Vegas Chapter 5380 East Flamingo Apartment 7 Las Vegas, Nevada 89122 Dear Mrs. Wallaces Thank you for your recent letter. It is always good to hear from you. My brother and I are very active with the Hecht synagogue located at Mt. Scopus in Jerusalem, and in other projects in Israel and with United Jewish Appeal. Later this year we will determine what our status will be with regard to donations, and please be assured we will keep Hadassah and the children's clinic in Israel in mind. I appreciate hearing from you. Sincerely, Chic Hecht The Honorable Chic Hecht United States Senator of the State of Nevada 300 South Las Vegas Boulevard Las Vegas, Nevada 89101 Dear Senator Hecht: We were sorry that you could not attend our Presidents' Ball in early December as you were tied up with senatorial business. Hopefully, some other. time. you have been a faithful supporter of Israel and Hadassah and Hadassah projects and understand their needs. Today, Hadassah is embarking on a new project - the building of a childrens clinic in Israel which will house all children's medical needs. We have come a long way from the first mother and child stations when we taught mothers how to take care of, their little ones. Today, we meet the challenge of treating physically, mentally and emotionally handicapped children. With each wave of immigration there are new illnesses and new problems. OUr new wing will help solve and heal many children who would otherwise die of neglect. We turn to you in these times of crisis and ask again fOr your assistance, We respectfully suggest a major gift - perhaps gift in the sum of $5,000 - Or perhaps a Founder's Gift of $15, 000 - toward a special piece of equipment or laboratory for the children's pavilion. It has been estimated that the cost will be 1 1/2 million dollars sO you see what we face. Once again we thank you for all of your past contributions. Sincerely, LHU:am March 15, 1988
