The frantically^ funny, Bernard Brothers, direct from Eng-]| land, all amid a TrajanrArden production* that fabfy leag^^W^P^^Rmers withm ?╟úHowdy Doody" and the plush Palm Island Latin Quarterrniay be worlds apart, but they do have one very attractive item in common. That item is a perj; 20-year-oid package named Gina Genardi, a graduate of the popular children's show and now featured singer in the glamorous club's new show. In the role of Indian Princess Summer ?╟≤ Fall - Winter - Spring, petite Gina entranced the small fry set for quite a few TV ses-* sions. Then the 4' 11" songbird had the good fortune to be ?╟údiscovered" by f a m e d producer Arden began groom-ing her for his productions and the public soon became aware of a new personality shining on the show business horizon. As featured singer in Arden's Desert Inn, Las Vegas revTS?,Bl?fffS garnered glowing notices as an up and coming headliner. A triple talented performer who sings,,; dances and clowns with equal ease and ability, Miss Genardi also has the 'added asset of eye appeal. In the soubrette role of the Latin Quarter's current Arden production, ?╟ú Internal! day for Love," Gina appears as a saucy, slightly naughty ?╟úangel," an Italian flower vendor, and an J Eloise-type ?╟úbrat" who 1 a t e r emerges as a very sophisticated ?╟úbaby." The Genardi role is woven throughout the production in such a manner that she serves as a sort of singing narrator for the I entire revue. The diminutive star is coached and managed by veteran vaudeville [ singing, star Aileen Stanley, a worn-f an obiously wise in the ways of showbysiness. Gina has been de-l scribed* as being ?╟úno bigger than | a campfire girl," but her powerful j voice and enchanting v*-----* ?╜nality are destined to carry her far along I the road to. fame. Pact Sue Carson and SeL Production for Fla. ft Sue Carson has been signed for ! the season?╟╓s opener at the Latip Quarter, Miami Beach, to be operated this year by E. M. Loew. Others on the bill starting Dec. 1 24 include the Bernard Bros: Rudy "Cardenas and production singer Gena Genardi. do the produc-; waiter Nye orch will handle the music. This was the same combo that operated at the now defunct Riviera, Ft. Lee, N,J*, Phil Moody & Tony Sherrill will write the score. Spot is beng facelifted with Rube Bodenhorn doing the decor. The Milton Berle show moves from the N.Y. branch to thej Florida outlet Feb. 5. m On New Latin Donn Arden is putting his inimit-itable finishing touches on his newest spectacular production for the Latin Quarter's grand opening Christmas Eve. Titled ?╟úInternational Holiday For Love," the revue will trace the pursuit of ?╟úamor" across the Continent with romantic rendezvous in gay Paree, sparkling Madrid and sophisticated London. The Freddie Wittop^inspired costumes promise to be lavish beyond description. The young designer toured the Continent this past summer for first hand information as well as native fabrics, laces and jeweled ornaments. The new Latin Quarter cast is a study in international relations. The headlined Bernard Brothers are from their native England where they reign supreme as Britian's favorite comedy team. Petite featured songstress Gina Genardi claims sunny Italy as home, while many of the beautiful showgirls check in as a minature United Nations get-to-gether. Tall and stately Tanya Cor- <. lette hails from New South Wales, |! Australia, while Queti Claijo, sul- 1 try flamenco dancer, is a Venezuelan beauty. Love and beautiful girls are of course synonomous. Impresario E. M. Loew will provide them in I abundance to decorate his newly I Dr 1 ...mi ..A ,...riui.i?╜I,... ... .... . I enlarged and redecorated stage. For those not content to do their looking straight ahead, Loew and Donn Arden have provided overhead tracks that will allow the long stemmed beauties to do a bit of flying on their own. Opening night promises to find blonde, brunette and redheaded ?╟úsputniks" lighting up the Latin Quarter sky. The sophisticated comedy of Sue Carson will occupy the stellar position in the show. Latin ~ Quarter, on Miami Beach's Palm Island, is being glit-; ter-wrapped and tinsel-tied for its Christmas Eve opening with a super stockingful of surprise packages for all its patrOns. - ; . The newly decorated and revamp- \ ! ed club will feature a Don . Arden production headline '^SIPiBPfon. Rudy Cardenas, juggler, will balance the second spot in die revue backed up with the Latin Quarter girls. With the old show-blinding poles , removed, impresario E. M. Loew has enlarged the oval stage area and added a few show stoppers of his own. IA tropical rainstorm curtain has been installed in lieu of the more conventional type, and overhead* tracks have been installed that will enable die long stemmed beauties tp swing out ?? over the heads of the ringside^*
