W 23-1-26 Laa Yagas - ffovember 7 , 1945 FS-Los Angelas Phone conversation regarding City holding up building permit on reservoir and pipe line* In an effort to get to the cause we attended formal meeting ®f Mayor and Commissioners this afternoon and it develops this action was taken on strength of telegram from Fufelie Servloe Commission to local labor union advising City had no right to grant building permit to tTPRR to oonstruct water facility as CFRE was not a public utility. Vi pointed cut railroad had previously constructed reservoir on their own ground and in view new reservoir likewise being constructed by railroad on their own ground we saw no valid reason why permit should be withheld* They were concerned with repeated cutting of Charleston Blvd. Inst we explained we intended to orcee at possibly ons point and extend an • ineh lateral on north side from which future servloe connections would be made thereby eliminating constant disturbance of boulevard surface. With this understanding they Instructed City Manager to reinstate permits for both pipeline and reservoir on ground that this is strictly a Jurisdictional dispute between unions in whioh City Commission is not concerned* 8—4 WRB 4:21 HI
