N O T IC E IS H E R E B Y G IV E N that the Board of D irectors o f Las V egas V alley W ater District, situated in Clark County, Nevada, will receive sealed bids or proposals for the purchase of $8,700,000 par value W aterw orks Bonds of said D istrict at its regular m eeting place, 135 South Fourth Street, Las V egas, Nevada, up to the hour of 1 0 :00 o ’clock A .M ., Pacific D aylight Tim e, A pril 28, 1954. Said D istrict is organized and the issuance o f said bonds is under and pursuant to Chapter 167, Statutes of Nevada, 1947, as amended and supplem ented by Chapter 130, Statutes of Nevada, 1949, and Chapter 307, Statutes of N evada, 1951. T h e objects and purposes for which the bonds are to be issued are as fo llo w s : A . T he acquisition and construction by the D istrict o f facilities for the developm ent, production, pum ping, storage, transmission and distribution o f water, including (1) the acquisition of water, water rights, water bearing lands, and the acquisition and construction of water wells, pum ps and pum ping plants, storage facilities, transmission and distribution lines and facilities, and the relocation of water transmission mains and pum ping plants or parts thereof; (2) the construction of repairs and betterments to, of additions to and extensions o f water pum ping, storage, transmission and distribution facilities; (3 ) the acquisition and construction o f electric pow er lines and equipment for the pum ping o f w ater; (4) the acquisition of all lands, easements, rights o f way, w orks, and real or personal property con­stituting or appurtenant to or necessary or convenient for any o f the above m entioned facilities; (5) the providing of funds for the operation o f any o f the above m entioned facilities; and (6 ) the paym ent o f all incidental expenses in connection with such acquisition and construction ; B. T he paym ent o f expenses incurred in connection with the authorization and issuance of the bonds, the paym ent o f interest on the bonds during the period o f construction of any im provem ents for which the bonds are voted and for six months thereafter, and repaym ent to Clark County of any amounts advanced to the D istrict by said County. The bonds and the interest thereon are to be payable in lawful m oney o f the U nited States o f Am erica at the office of the Treasurer of said D istrict in the City of Las V egas, Nevada, or at any fiscal agency o f the Las V egas V alley W ater D istrict in T he City o f L os A ngeles, California, in the City o f Chicago, Illinois, or in the City of N ew Y ork, N ew Y ork, at the option o f the holder. T he bonds maturing on or prior to M arch 1, 1964, shall not be subject to redem ption. Bonds maturing on M arch 1, 1990, may be called on M arch 1, 1959, or on any interest paym ent date thereafter, and redeemed from revenues, but shall not be redeemed prior to M arch 1, 1964, from the proceeds o f refunding bonds. 1
