E. E. B, MAY 14 1953 S r yj m w Los Angeles (GC - Hr. *. B. Beanstt)’ - May 13. 1953 1 requested Hr. Sen wick sons tine ago to have Mr. Man son prepare aa estlaate of the cost of corns trueting the one large pipe line extending fro* the east line of the lands, which are included in the proposed sale to the Water District, along the section line to a point approximately on the westerly lino of the shop area# and there connecting with the 16* and 24" lines now in place. I think this line is »ors carefully outlined and described in the proposed agreeaent with the District. While Mr. Adamson *ay hare these figures all prepared, it ie *y recollection that some tine ago you did eome figuring on this lias, and as a natter of chock on Mr. Adamson's figures I would like you to go OTor your previous figures if you hare some, of if net, prepare new figures on the cost ef the line. In preparing these figures, you should remember that, 1. 2. It may he a year or so before the line le actually constructed. That your costs should he hated on the use ef the nest expensive pipe available (probably oast iron), and 3. Aliev a generous contingent factor to cover the uncertainties of wage scales, and other factors which night increase the cost. I would say that this contingent item should he not less than 10p and in the circumstances probably 15^ would he safer. As the essential points in the proposed agreement have now been decided upon and we are hopeful df getting all the deeunente executed within the shortest possible tine, S would appreciate your »fir4«g this job one of first importance.
