DONN ARDEN PRODUCTIONS INC with offices at MGM STUDIOS 10202 W. Washington Boulevard, Culver City, CA 90230 (213) 836-3000 November 6, 1979 Mr* Pierre Louis Guerin 116 Bis-Champs Elysees Blvd. Paris, France - 18th District Dear Pierre: Have been waiting to hear from you but no news - hence this letter. Have talked to the three choreographers who are holding bona-fide contracts for the Lido show. They tell me they turned down other assignments which were offered, knowing that as of last June, 1979, they had signed to work for you the first ten weeks of 1980. Naturally, it is your privilege to hold over the present show for another year, but these fellows are left holding the bag, so to speak. Firstly, 1 secured for you three top-grade dance directors at a very nominal price figure. They were doing all of us a favor by accepting our terms, and they have told me they feel some sort of compensation is justified. They do not agree to postpone the assignment for one year at the same terms, inflation being what it is. Before any discussion, they want some sort of financial settlement forwarded to them. The contracts they are now holding are worthless - how can they sue you from 6,000 miles away! I think their claim is justified. As I would like to have them with me when I do your show in January 1980, would like for you to send me new contracts so I don't lose them, but they all discussed with me a 257?? raise, which would make each one at $1,250 per week. 1 think that is still very reasonable. Please let me know what you think of this. Remember, you signed the contracts for the Lido - or shall I contact Joseph or Christian Clerico? I have placed the good-looking Cuban boy (the singer-dancer you saw) into MGM Vegas. He had not been issued a contract, hence we are lucky there -- but he is disappointed in not being able to come to Paris. Gary Marshall is holding a contract, but I believe he will postpone until the new show goes in, but also at an increase in salary. Speaking of myself - I expect to be reimbursed one??third of the original contract for the hold-over fourth year of the show I staged and directed for you. Sorry to be so direct and business-like --
