L a s V e g a s , N e v a d a REVIEW - JOURNAL F e b r u a r y I I , 1 9 4 7 Water Survey Gets Okay Of Chamber The first step in the plan to provide a water district in the Vegas valley to utilize water from Lake Mead was taken to-, day when the chamber of commerce approved the employment of the Garrett-Bromfield company, of Denver, to make a preliminary survey of the situation. The chamber ratified the action of the board of directors and it is expected that Fred F. Barker, representative of the company, will start work immediately on whipping the project into shape. It was pointed out to the directors, that there would be a tremendous amount of preliminary work necessary to the formation of the water district,, especially in setting up permissive I legislation. The company was hired on a basis of the chamber paying .only, the out-ofrpocket expense of the firm’s representative during the preliminary isrork, with an opportunity of | getting a priority on the bond business if the project goes through.
