I agree.the history of tennis, and also new to virtually everything in this country. Or, perhaps, Chris Evert, our American Wunderkind of the tennis world. In any event she will be seen interacting with the staff and patients, adding her warmth and graciousness to the City of Hope. For, indeed, the athlete herself symbolizes the very thing this city offers...Hope...and that is something we can all identify with. D. Would the comedy team of Wilt Chamberlain and Don Rickies be entertaining? It's bound to be something! E. Even Dizzy Dean is "on deck" ready to perform the "Wabash Cannonball" for an unsuspecting national television audience The Finale. This is the end of a very special evening. The possibility of a .production number involving the stars and the athletes should be considered. The athletes should rehearse this number, eliminating the possibility of sloppiness, and creating an ovation-stirring presentation. Time steps, intricate move- ments done by professional athletes can be beautiful, and when a singer with the stature of, let's say, Barbra Streisand if fronting the Finale, well, it can only mean total entertainment. Incidentally, a special musical theme written especially for the Victor Awards by one of Americans premiere composers, conductors, * and arrangers, Mr. Nelson Riddle, will be available. In all, this evening, with its film, its moments of humor, and of course the solemnity that goes with great athletes receiving an equally great award, promises to be a "Very Special Show."
