I / k. It's really nice of you to come and see me tonight. You know what that is? That's my favorite part of the show. Aren't they beautiful. Isn't that terrific what they're doing. They're vamping. For those of you that don't know what that is, let me explain. A vamp is music that repeats and repeats and repeats like a gusset. Now a gusset is like when you gain too much weight and you need more area so you insert a gusset and that's what bridges the area of the gusset. So let's take it two bars before the gusset. Isn't she wonderful. There are a lot of really very special people here tonight, and I'd like for-you to meet.. I'd like you to meet with me.... I'd like you to share with me a close friend... Now that we all know one another better, I would like to confide in you. Very often people come up to me and say "Oh, come on, Goldie, giggle for us.'1 Now I would really love to do that. Do you know how hard it is to giggle- on cue? I remember when I was doing Laugh-In, sometimes they had to turn the cue cards upside down so it would make me giggle. Well, I want to giggle for you tonight, but since we don't haveaa cue card man here, I'm going to need your help. The song I just sang was written by Randy Newmanf a fine musician; and I would like to introduce some other fine musicians that are here tonight. My guitarist, Don Overberg, my drummer, Tommy Check. They are the key members of the rhythm section. Now they are sandwiched in between this side over here, and this side over there, and they nrnke up the Joe Gersio Orchestra. Now, all this beautiful music is conducted by my conductor, Marvin Laird. r /
