San Pedro, Los Angeles & Salt Lake Railroad Co. ENGINEER DEPARTMENT. Salt Lake, Utah, 10/21/03. ut)Ject- Lease of Keil Ranch,- Nevada. Mr. J, Eoss Clark r Vice President* Los Angeles, Calif,. Dear J|lr,- I have yours of October 10th, enclosing a letter of Mrs.. Mary Bishop of Oct. 6th in relation to leasing the Keil Ranch in the Vegas Valley,. I have had nothing to do with any arrangements for a lease of this property. I find this matter has been in the hands of Mr. McDermott and Mr. Whittemore, and they made arrangements with a man named Dettmar to take the ranch at a yearly, rental of $250. The arrangements have not been perfected as a transfer of tne lease of the present tenant,- Latimer, is required. Dettmar started for Los Vegas on Oct. 12th and was to send Mr. Whittemore the transfer from there^but uptokate no word has been received; from him. Mr. Whittemore informs me he considers Mrs. Bishop decidedly the better tenant of the two. I will endeavor to have the lease perfected to one or the other Very respectfully* / First Ass f,t^Engineer, of the applicants without delay.
