Cess - Omaha I enclose letter fro® Earl & Earl* local attorns regarding claim for i®gia|gii# to the property of Jo# Pittman who lives Just outs Ido of the city limits, fhs circumstance# la connection with this claim arc as. follows* About 11 « the night of May hth one of the oity employs# telephoned me that ctmaiderable water Mss running down East Stewart, and It looked like a broken main. 1 immediately contacted oar night emergency orsw who investigated and found the plug hid blown out of the 12-inoh cross at the end of. the 12-inoh transmission . main between 11th and 12th street* on Stewart, the water was shut off as soon as ’possible and It was necessary to drain the line so the ptukcould be replaced. this plug had been in place alno® Jt&y 19^5* «»d there was no apparent reason for the plug to blow out at the end of the line other than normal variation in pressure during the night hours, whs® there is oomp-sratlvo little water usage* X looked over the alleged damage today and there la one gully across a portion of his lot in front of ills house which could be repaired with two or three loads of gravel. Since this damage occured a ditch has been bladed along each side of Cedar Street to carry off further water from rainfall or otlwr sources. A. m, Folgsr
