LOS ANGELES SAN FRANCtSCO NEW YORK % WASHINGTON C'Restview 4-8246 ?╟≤ '9255 SUNSET BOULEVARD * LOS ANGELES, CAL!FORNiA 90069 August 9, 1965 Dear Al, A belated note of thanks for the wonderful time shown us during our recent visit to Vegas. Eesides American Motors, I am working on two other major clients of mine to bring their big meetings to the Sands. I will keep you current on this as they begin to develop. The more thought I have given to the idea of our Salt Lake City production company being in the Sands, the more merit I can see in it for us. Certainly you know the attitude of Vegas visitors, and I don't, but it has always seemed to me that something could be done during the afternoon lull to pull people into the casinos. A matinee in the Copa Room should certainly take care of this problem. Our cost in Salt Lake runs about $30,000 per week. This does not include the star as his or her cost always varies, depending upon the name value. I am sure that something could be designed at an attractive cost to fit the Copa Room and I would suggest that you, Jack, Leslie, Prinz and I get together posthaste to see what we can work out. Incidentally, Al, and of course confidentially, Prinz has been contacted by one other major Strip hotel to discuss this very set-up. We told Prinz to talk to no one until we had had a meeting with you and Jack as our first loyalty certainly lies with you. Please let me hear from you as soon as arrangements can be made for us to get together either in Vegas or Los Angeles, whichever is the more convenient.
