    OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. MAY 23rd, 1933. Minutes of a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held on the 23rd day of May, 1933 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. Roll call showed the following present, Mayor Cragin, Commissioners Mundy, German and Thomas, City Attorney Henderson and City Clerk, Viola Burns. Absent Commissioner Hansell. At this time a number of citizens appeared before the Board in regard to loading zones in the City of Las Vegas on Fremont St. O.J. Smith and A. Corradetti appeared as spokes man for the interested parties. action was taken on the matter and it was taken under advisement until some further date. On motion of Commissioner Mundy seconded by Commissioner German the liquor license of Louis Arthur Deiken at the Overland Cafe, was transferred to George Wilbur to be used at the same address. Vote on said motion was as follows: Commissioners Mundy German and Thomas and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. At this time a petition was presented to the Board asking for permission to erect columns or pillars on the building of the Palm Funeral Home at First and Carson Streets, said pillars or columns to occupy some sidewalk space but not to cause and construction on the sidewalks surrounding said building. No motion of Commissioner Mundy seconded by Commissioner German, Permit was granted to said Palm Funeral Home to construct pillars or columns on said building abutting on South First and Carson Sts. The City Clerk was also directed to prepare a copy of Permit similar to those already granted for such purposes, and the Mayor and City Clerk to sign said Permit and submit to the Palm Funeral Home for its acceptance. Vote on said motion was as follows: Commissioners Mundy, Thomas and German and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. On motion of Commissioner Thomas seconded by Commissioner Mundy the following slot machine licenses were granted: L.L. Arnett & John Graglia 5 Slot Machines J.T. Watters 6 " " Dave Stearns 2 " " Applications being in proper form and money to cover same being on file with the City Clerk. Vote on said motion was as follows: Commissioner Mundy German and Thomas and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE SALE OF MILK, CREAM AND OTHER DAIRY PRODUCTS IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; DEFINING STANDARDS FOR MILK AND CREAM; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR THE SALE OF CREAM AND MILK, AND THE REVOCATIONS OF SUCH PERMITS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY COMMISSIONERS TO PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AN REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, " was read for a first time and laid over for a second reading. On motion of Commissioner Mundy seconded by Commissioner German the surety company bond from the Southern Nevada Wholesale Corp. from the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company for Five Hundred Dollars was approved. Same to be signed by the Mayor. Vote on said motion was as follows: Commissioners Mundy, and German and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. Commissioner Thomas not voting. At this time the application of F.E. Matzdorf, for the operation of one Tango Game in the City of Las Vegas was brought before the Board for consideration. After some decision the matter on motion of Commissioner Mundy, seconded by Commissioners German the follow­ing motion was introduced and passed: That the application of F.E. Matzdorf for a license to operate a "Tango Game" in the City of Las Vegas, 129 So. 1st Street be referred to the Committee of Public Morals of the Grand Jury of Clark County for its decision as to the granting of said license, and if said Committee approve of the granting of such license the City Clerk without further order of the Board of Commissioners is authorized to issue such license. That the Application for same is in proper form and the money to cover same is on file with the City Clerk. Vote on the motion was as follows: Commissioners Mundy and German and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. Commissioner Thomas leaving before the vote was called. Chief of Police O.C. Boggs appeared before the Board at this time in regard to the arresting of George Washington at 20 Stewart Street for the selling of "Home Brew Beer." After some discussion on the matter on motion of Commissioner German, seconded by Commissioner Mundy the following Resolution was introduced and passed: Resolved, That the City retail liquor license No. 18 of Henry Wilson for 20 Stewart Street be revoked on the grounds that one George Washington was arrested there on May 14th for the violation of Ordinance No. 198 of the City of Las Vegas governing the sale and giving away of liquor in the City of Las Vegas, by not paying the City excise tax as set forth in said Ordinance or stating the alcoholic contence of same. Vote on the above Resolution was as follows: Commissioners Mundy and German and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. No further business appearing before the Board at this time the meeting then adjourned.
