LATIN QUARTER LOVELIES?╟÷This relaxed crew of beauties are typical of the girls who will perform in the exciting show at the Latin Quarter this year. (Ted Press Photo.) Latin Quarter Club To Delight Patrons With Many New Surprises ] E. M; Loew will re-open his Palm Island Latin Quarter Club on Christmas Eve with a stocking-full of glitter-wrapped surprizes to delight the hearts of the night club going public. I I ?╟úVisions of sugarplums?╟╓* will dance in the heads of many an older ?√ß?╟╓youngster?╟Ñ when the always exciting dub debuts its completely redecorated and revamped interior . . . With loud cheers for the now non-existent poles that used to be the bane of Latin Quarter lovers. The poles are gone for good, and in their place a new and spacious club emerges with complete visibility from every table in the house. allowing the guests to enjoy the complete floor show in the main room as Well. As always, Jaques Marshond will direct the excellent cuisine depart-| ment with the help of a brand new Chinese chef for the Cantonese menu. Harry Spector returns as Resident Manager and Nat Sherman will again greet old and new friends as the Latin Quarter?╟╓s genial maitre *d. All original music for the show has been written by Phil Moody and Pony Sherrell, with Walter Nye conducting the orchestra. The entire line-up of stellar acts for the season has not yet been announced, but already well known and anxiously awaited will be the advent of ?╟úMr. Television,?╟Ñ Milton Berle, on the Miami scene. Uncle Miltie has ?╟≤ been drawing rave reviews in his current New York Latin Quarter stint and will bring his entire smash act to Miami Beach in February for a six week engagement. * Obviously, ?╟úSanta?╟Ñ Loew expects to start off Christmas with a bang and has* made a New Year?╟╓s resolution not to let up the pa?║e fop an instant during the entire^'1958 season. They are I f the first of. a series of show-stoppers. Tiny I Gina Gerardi is a pert, bubbly little thing, I I both in song and dance; Martha Errolle is 1 | a singing beauty in the lead role assigned 1 her; Queti Clavijo, a fiery Latin whose I I flamenco patterns are authentic!; Rudy I Cardenas and his flashy ball-juggling is I another top act. It is Sue Carson and the I Bernard Brothers who make the after-show I conversation for the auditors. Miss Carson, I j a devilish minx with a devastating flair I for exploding the foibles of men; serving I up wide-eyed ?╟úsermons?╟Ñ oh the never-end-1 ing war with said males and, finally, sharp I I lampooning of the better-knowns in show I S biz. The Bernard Brothers make an art I I out of taping various talents not their own, I I arid making it all seem very much in-per- I I sonish with their synchronized results. It?╟╓s I 1 easy enough to mouth the words and sound I coming from a loud speaker, but in their I case, they work up a laugh storm with their The Loew clutch of packages also includes some of the most amazing stage settings ever seen in a night dub. The huge oval stage has been lengthened another seven feet and an actual ?╟úcurtain of rain?╟Ñ has been installed around it to create an unusual tropical effect.
