During this era, "Civilization," "Thousand Island Song," which started the novelty trend of the big bands, and "OhI Babe*-became tremendous hits. In fact, the latter, another Prima composition, was so popularized, 12 other cover records came out of it. Into the 50's, Elvis Presley shook the nation with his wiggle ?╜* but when the latter was asked where he got it from, he remarked: "From watching Louis Primal" The Louis Prima shuffle rhythm, developed and projected towards the public in the mid-50's, started a trend of such smash hits as "Buona Sera," "Just a Gigolo," "I Ain't Got Nobody" and others, it caught on with the young rock 'n' roll groups that were then starting to break out all over the country. This trend ultimately developed into the Swim, Watusi, Frug, Monkey, etc., of today. So, today, Louis Prima is not just Louis Prima; he's the "Big Daddy" of 'em all - and leader of "the most talked about Attraction in America,* with Gia Maione and Sam Butera & the Witnesses. Along with space travel, the most talked -about subject today is Louis Prima. Now people don't talk about something that much unless it's really important. Whereas space travel is only of the 60's, Louis Prima has been a "Headline" attraction since the word "swing" moved out ofthe playgrounds and into the world of music. Louis Prima is easily the youngest living legend in show business. In ntght clubs from coast to coast*v.on theater screens.. .on television.. .on stage.?╜.on records... wherever discriminating audiences gather for exciting entertainment, they look first for the name of Louis Prima. >
