STATE OF NEVADA ) RICHARD LOCHRIE, being first duly sworn, deposes and says: That he is Foreman of the LAS VEGAS MORNING SUN, a daily newspaper of general circulation, printed and published at Las Vegas, in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the attached was continuously published in said newspaper for a period of 2 weeks from June 23, 1956 to June 30, 1956 inclusive, being the issues of said newspaper for the following dates to-wit: June 23, 30, 1956. GREENSPUN NOTARY PUBLIC IN AND FOR CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA My Commission Expires March 17, 1960 ORDINANCE NO. 722 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS DEALING WITH LICENSING FOR THE PURPOSES OF REVENUE AND REGULATION OF CERTAIN LAWFUL BUSINESSES TRANSACTED AND CARRIED ON WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, SPECIFICALLY BOOT-BLACK STANDS IN BARBER SHOPS, RENTAL UNITS, BEAUTY SHOPS, AND CIVIL ENGINEERS; FIXING THE RATES OF LICENSE TAX FOR SUCH BUSINESSES; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; AMENDING SECTION 8 OF ORDINANCE NO. 715; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF US VEGAS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The rates of license tax for business, trades, occupations and employments herein­after named are hereby fixed in and for the city and the same shall be paid by any person engaged in or carrying on the same in the city as follows: (a) BARBERSHOPS. For each barbershop, $20.00 semi-annually for the first barber chair operated; $6.00 semi-annually for each additional barber chair operated; and $6.00 semi-annually for a manicurist, bootblack, or bootblack stand operating in said barbershop. (b) BEAUTY PARLOR OR HAIR DRESSING PARLOR. For each beauty parlor or hair dressing parlor, or both, whether operated in connection with a barbershop or separately, $20.00 semi- annually for the first operator, and $6.00 semi-annually for each additional operator, or manicurist. (c) APARTMENT HOUSE. Every person engaged in the business of keeping or conducting an apart­ment house in the city shall pay for and obtain a semi-annual license to carry on such business as per schedule as follows: Those who have five apartments and not exceeding eight apartments shall pay for such license the sum of $20.00 semi-annually. Those who have nine apartments and not exceeding eighteen apartments, shall pay for such license the sum of $30.00 semi-annually. Those who have nineteen apartments and not exceeding thirty-eight apartments, shall pay for such license the sum of $60.00 semi-annually. Those who have thirty-nine apartments and over shall pay for such license the sum of $120.00 semi-annually. (d) HOTELS. For each hotel, lodging house, rooming house, auto court or tourist camp, as de­fined hereunder, $10.00 semi-annually for from five to eight guest rooms; from eight to eighteen guests rooms, $20.00 semi-annually; from eighteen to thirty guest rooms, $40.00 semi-annually; from thirty to fifty guest rooms, $60.00 semi-annually; from fifty to eighty guest rooms, $80.00 semi-annually; above eighty guest rooms, $100.00 semi-annually. For the purpose of this Ordinance, an auto court or tourist camp is defined as a place, other than a regular hotel or apartment house, where sleeping accomodations in small buildings are rented to the general public, and whenever more than three cabins or small buildings are situated in close proximity to each other and are owned or operated by the same person and are rented to the general public, either by the day, week, month or year, and whether to transients or permanent residents of the city, the same shall be considered to be a tourist camp or auto court. SECTION 2. Chapter 9 Section 17, Code of Las Vegas, Nevada, 1949, dealing with the license fee for civil engineers is hereby amended to read as follows: Each applicant who shall pass such examination shall be issued by the Board of Examination a registration certificate upon payment of a ten dollar registration fee and a license fee of $20.00 to the Supervisor of Licenses and Revenue. Such fee of $20.00 shall be a license fee for the practicing of such profession for six months or a fraction thereof.
