I agree. The backstage area at the Stardust is completely off- limits during Lido performances because there is no place where a spectator could stand to watch all of the activity without hindering the dressing of the stage for each production number. Throughout each performance, one or more pieces of scenery are moved around every area surrounding the stage. For the new edition, the Stardust has had to construct an enormous building behind the stage to house some of the mammoth sc enery. Art director Michael Knight has designed the largest sets ever used for a Lido revue for this 10th edition, and there simply is not enough room backstage to accommodate it all. Needless to say, the sets are far larger and more elaborate than any ever used in any nightclub in the world. Pierre Louis-Guerin and Rene Fraday, who conceived the Lido, worked closely with creator-director Donn Arden and producer Frank Sennes to ensure that the Dec. 28 opening will provide showgoers with a wealth of thrills and amazing effects, Every new edition of the Lido has provided Las Vegas audiences with many exciting spectacles, and the 10th edition is replete with show-stoppers. ?ç34-
