I agree.Pillsbury Mills, Inc. Minneapolis 2, Minnesota November 16, 1955 Mr. A1 Freeman Freeman Company 44-9 South Beverly Drive Beverly Hills, California Dear Mr, Freeman: May I take the liberty ofanswering your correspondence with Don McGovern? He was certainly impressed with your promotional acumen and hopes that we may develop a mutually profitable promotion. Your interest in a promotion of this sort, we believe, is well founded, No one can deny their short and long range effectiveness, as in the case of the Florida Vacationland development. Certainly the press activities and promotions you have already conducted have made the Sands and Dunes famous. There are a few comments that I would like to address to you concerning your initial letter to Don McGovern. 1*11 take each point in numerical order. 1. Would there bp any problem if in actual come-off the trips were run in more than 35 cities (or possibly a few less), but only involved the total of 50 trips for two? 2. We are working with United Air Lines now. 3. Would there bp any months that you would want excluded from the calendar year, or any other time besides holidays? Further, we would like you to spell out your "holiday?ǥ times to prevent misunderstanding. 4. The airlines currently prefer that winners depart on Monday; there- fore, the Monday afternooh arrival would be largely satisfactory. I have not checked on flying time from distant points like New York, Washington, etc., I suppose winners from areas like these could not arrive until Tuesday morning. Could these winners from distant points spend Tuesday and Wednesday nights rather than Monday and Tuesday as you outline? I feel this is a major point. 5. 6, 7. These items are satisfactory and can be handled easily. 8. 0. K. 9. We certainly will confer with you on layouts and develop posters of mutual acceptance. Thanks for your sketches.
