SANDS OPENS MILLION DOLLAR 83 SUITE BUILDING Las Vegas, Nevada (April 12) A plush three-story, 83 suite and room building, perhaps the costliest hotel accomodations in America, was opened this week to the public at the Sands Hotel here, in the latest move to attract guests in the stiffening competition among Las Vegas hotels, it was announced by Jack Entratter, President. The new building, to be called Aqueduct, following the Sands policy of naming the hotel buildings after famous race-tracks, will cost about $1,100,000 by the time it is completely finished, and another $500,000 for furnishings will raise the final cost of the building to $1,600,000. Entratter started the project six months ago, in an effort to meet the increasing demand for roans at the Sands, and now can offer to the 12,000,000 annual Las Vegas visitors, a total of 548 deluxe suites and rooms. Aqueduct, seen from either end of its 275 foot length, is a long graceful sweep into the skyline, with a Bermuda theme of pink and white tile and concrete. Its basic construction is steel reinforced with concrete, measures 275 feet in length, 70 feet in width, and arches 3 stories high into the sky*
