A veteran of 25 years in show business?╟÷he?╟╓s only 31?╟÷the well-known comic will emcee the colorful spectacular as well as performing himself. Until last year, he was half of one of the nation?╟╓s most famous comedy teams, Martin and Lewis, and, now, as a ?╟╓?╟╓single?╟Ñ he has been equally successful both as a comedian and a popular singer. His appearance at the Sam Houston Coliseum will highlight a Miss Houstoi Pageant that is large enough in scope to attract the attention of officials of the Miss America Pageant, of which the local contest is a preliminary. In addition, the nearly $3000 worth of prizes that Miss Houston will receive has also attracted wide attention. Topping the fabulous prize list is a $1000 scholarship to be awarded by Bill McDavid, owner of Bill McDnvid Oldsmobile, Inc., underwriter of the pageant.
