NEW YORK POST July 13, 1985 Some apartheid foes have other things on their agenda APARTHEID, the South African practice of legalized racial segregation, poses a problem for policymakers In the US. Seeking a way to end the Injustices that the apartheid system perpetuates, they have also sought to Insure that - changes occur peacefully and bring freedom and democracy to the peoples of South Africa. If the demonstrators who regularly offer themselves for arrest outside the South African embassy are to be believed, the US. Is not doing enough to end apartheid. Their frequent and conspicuous appearances on national' television have sparked public Interest But in attracting attention to their cause, the protesters promote a simplistic Interpretation of the problem and a solution that will cause more problems than It solves.
