Pappas 109 Fremont 10 slots Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following votes Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none* A letter presented to the Board by Ed Van Tassell, Jr., advising them that he is no longer connected with or responsible for the Cork 'N Bottle Liquor Store, 508 Fremont, and that the new managers will be Frank Pimentel and Emma R. Pimentel. This letter was referred to the Police Department for report. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Sam Don, Sav-On Liquor Store, 504 North Main for a Sealed Package Miniature liquor license be approved subject to the report of the Police Department upon investigation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Robert H. Featherston, Wimpy's Pick-A-Rib Joynt, 1501 South 5th far a Retail Restaurant Beverage license for the fourth quarter of 1949 be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF US VEGAS, COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE POLICE DE­PARTMENT AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF SAID CITY, DEFINING TERMS; PROVIDING FOR EXAMINATIONS; ESTABLISHING ELIGIBILITY LISTS; PROVIDING FOR APPOINTMENTS; PROMOTIONS; DISCIPLINARY AC­TION; REPORTS AND RECORDS; CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PUNS, AND ALL MATTERS RELATING THERETO, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Whipple and Moore for report. At this time His Honor read a letter under date of October 29, 1949 submitted to the Board of Commissioners by the owners of the Boulder Cab Company, Drayline Cab Company, Lucky Cab Company, Union Cab Company, Whittlesea Cab Company, Yellow Cab Company and Checker Cab Company, requesting permission to reinstate the rates in effect prior to August 1, 1949. Commissioner Moore moved that the, foregoing request be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote* Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Lee Speirs, Boulder Cab Company, asked if the Board could take any action regarding cour­tesy cars used by the Union during the present Cab strike. Courtesy Cars are using the Operators' cab stands that they have paid the City for. His Honor informed the owners and operators of the cab companies that such are illegal in Las Vegas and the Police Department would be called upon to enforce the law. Commissioner Whipple moved that the following taxicab applications for the fourth quarter of 1949 be granted. Checker Cab Corp. LeRoy C. Rocho Union Cab Company C. A. Christmas Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Peccole moved that Ben O. Davey be appointed to fill the position on the Regional Planning Commission formerly held by Al Worswick and that the City Clerk be in­structed to send a letter to Mr. Worswick commending him for services rendered to this Commission. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote* Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time letters of recommendation from the Regional Planning Commission relative to the following subjects were presented to the Board for their consideration. (1) Alta Vista Subdivision - Tentative Map (2) Desert Park Subdivision - Tentative Map (3) Westside Park, Tract #1 - Final Map. Subject to the conditions set forth by the Regional Planning Commission (4) Zone Variance Case No. 77, lots 3 & 4, Block 22, Boulder Addition. Request of Moe Taub to use as "R4" Apartment Residence instead of "R3" Limited Multiple Residence. Commissioner Moore moved that the foregoing recommendations of the Regional Planning Com­mission be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
