Following my letter of last night regarding the water situation in Las Vegas# Commissioner Williams of the Public Serried Commission arrlred this morning with instructions to inrestlgate the water situation in Las Vegas, as a result of telegraphic complaints filed with the Commis­sion yesterday. X went over the situation with M m thoroughly and explained the temporary emergency was created hy a few days of unreasonably hot days and nights during which time the water was being withdrawn faster than we could produce It; and that with a little cooperation from everyone we could furnish equal pressures throughout the 01 ty# Fortunately the effect of the Mayor* s proclamation yesterday was apparent as practically every­one had shut off their sprinklers at 9*00 A# K., and our pressures were almost normal, the reservoir* gradually recovering throughout the day# While Mr# Williams van pleased with the Improve­ment and the cooperation of the consumers, the press and the City officials, he dwelt strongly on the question of what the future would bring and whether a similar condition
