Following my letter of last night regarding the water situation in Las Vegas# Commissioner Williams of the Public Serried Commission arrlred this morning with instructions to inrestlgate the water situation in Las Vegas, as a result of telegraphic complaints filed with the Commission yesterday. X went over the situation with M m thoroughly and explained the temporary emergency was created hy a few days of unreasonably hot days and nights during which time the water was being withdrawn faster than we could produce It; and that with a little cooperation from everyone we could furnish equal pressures throughout the 01 ty# Fortunately the effect of the Mayor* s proclamation yesterday was apparent as practically everyone had shut off their sprinklers at 9*00 A# K., and our pressures were almost normal, the reservoir* gradually recovering throughout the day# While Mr# Williams van pleased with the Improvement and the cooperation of the consumers, the press and the City officials, he dwelt strongly on the question of what the future would bring and whether a similar condition
