New 'Lido de Paris' set to open May 1 Theatrical styles that traditionally become the forerunners of aranereial fashion trends will be on parade in the all-new "Lido de Paris" stage spectacular, "Pourquoi Pas?" A glittering first right audience will royally welcome it at the Stardust Hotel's Cafe Continental May 1. Designed by Mco, world renowned courturier from Italy, the special hand-created costumes have been flown to Las Vegas from Paris and cost more than $350,000. They will undoubtedly enhance the Lido's justifiably earned reputation as the most opulently costumed stage show in American theatrical history. Dramatically styled, the garments are expected to Mow their Lido show predecessors in achieving high fashion commercial use. Sooner or later their clothing progeocy will wind up on the racks of leading dress shops md boutiques throughout the world. Exemplifying the patience and artistry of European craftsmen, the costumes are ats integral a part of the lavish Parisian importations as the unique settings themselves. Al display a mjaignificenice of flair and daring in design which is a noted Folco standard. Fabricated of luxury materials and hand stitched and reinforced, their colors have been pre-seleeted to blend with the stage and settings. Accordingly, very scene in the lavish Lido revue has been color-toned for the enjoyment of the showgoer.
